"ERROR: Unable to reach PetaLogix server"

My PC is connected to the internet and I can reach the PetaLogix website from my web browser. However, when loading the 'settings.sh' script after installation, I get this error message.

Problem Description

PetaLinux requires an internet connection during use to periodically validate your license file.  Corporate IT environments often use proxy servers to manage internet connectivity, and these can interfere with the license validation process.

Resolution

1.  Contact  your network administrator and obtain the name and port numbers of your  network proxy servers.  An example might be "http://localproxy:8080", which means a local server called 'localproxy', on internet port 8080.

2. Set the 'http_proxy' and 'https_proxy' environment variables accordingly.  In Bash and other sh-like shells, use the following:

export http_proxy=....

export https_proxy=....

For C-shell, use 'setenv':

setenv http_proxy ....

setenv https_proxy ...

3. Loading the PetaLinux settings.sh script again.

4. Once it is working, you may wish to add these commands into your ~/.baschrc startup script, to avoid having to type them each time you login.  Ask your local IT adminstration for details.
